Monteverde

Rain Forrest

The Butterfly Garden was a short walk from our hotel. Anthony (U. Fla.) our guide, was studying to be an entomologist and was excited about the insects he got to show us. The colorful butterflies had folded up in the late afternoon rain.
Monteverde Lodge had excellent accomodations. We visited their gardens. Enjoyed their hot tub. The meals were excelent and came with a view of the hummingbirds at feeders outside the window.
Selvatura was excitement and learning. We made a guided nature tour through the rain forrest and hanging bridges. We zipped through the canopy for 1.8 miles connecting 14 platforms. They helped Jola make the trip with one arm. More butterflies, birds and orchids.

We saw Howler Monkeys, Agouti, and Tayra.
Michael made a list of over
30 birds we saw on this trip.
